Last Christmas' Hipsters' Favourite

01 Dec 2019

You may be wondering why we are so late to the party and only including Picpoul now? Well the answer is that in my years of experience in the wine trade I have found that in the initial buzz of a new wine trend the market quickly becomes awash with some many new wines of occasionally questionable quality. Once the excitement dies down those wines of questionable quality tend to disappear and you are left with those producers who prioritise delivering quality wines at their price points.

In this month’s case we are proud to bring you this superb example of the variety, made by the acclaimed Languedoc producer Emma M.Louise. It has been produced in partnership with Master of Wine Liam Stevenson and has the crisp citrus character that you would expect from the variety. Picpoul is also known for having a flinty minerality on the finish and Emma achieves this beautifully.
