The Maule Valley is Chile's largest wine producing region. For years it was regarded as the cheap wine producer of Chile, however considerable work has been undertaken to reinvigorate the region and wine making techniques.
New vertically positioned vineyards and careful selection of vines by wine makers has allowed the local wineries to explore the best this region can produce. The results are exciting; with predominately red wines, which retain their fresh fruit character, showing the most promise.
