Aconcagua Valley

Aconcagua Valley

Dominated by Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas, affects all aspects of wine making on the valley floor.  The crystalline melt waters from the ice-capped peak, the low risk to frost and the warm sunny conditions makes the climate here ideal for wine growing.

Chile's first Syrah was planted here in the mid 1990s and has since given way to much more plantings of this variet. Other key vines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Melot, Syrah, Carmenere and Chardonnay.
