The Côte de Nuits takes its name from the famous village of Nuits-St-Georges at its southern tip, but there is not a grand cru to be found in this comparatively large area. In this large area of diverse soils there are a range of red wine styles. Everything from the delicate to the powerful can be found and the name of the producer is the best way to gauge what will come out of the bottle. A small amount of white wine is also produced.
