Alicante Bouschet is a red variety bred by Henri Bouschet using Grenache & Petit Bouschet crossings. The deep ruby hue makes it ideal for adding depth to less intensely coloured varieties, including Aramon. Care needs to be taken in the vineyard, placed on a site too fertile and it will yield too much and the result will be disappointing.
