Colombard releases a reasonably neutral aroma, with a pleasing crispness and fruit expression. Once used alongside Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche in Cognac, the vine has suffered due to suseptiability to rot and powdery mildew. In California's Central Valley it has fared better and is used in blending.
