Antâo Vaz

One of Portugal's key white grapes, Antâo Vaz produces substantial, full bodied wines. Aromas include ripe tropical fruit, honey and citrus peel. Primarily grown in the arid Alentejo region, its often used to produce white Port. It's often blended with varieties with a lively crispness, including Arinto and Roupeiro.

Climate Suitability

Thick skin and relatively loose bunch structure give it good disease resilience and ability to cope with arid climates

Colour and Flavours

Early harvesting results in lighter bodied, citrus flavoured wines. Later harvest produces rounder, fuller wines capable of barrel aging.
