Japanese food lends itself perfectly to wine. However, look out for the spicy sauces which can sometimes overpower the wines.
Sushi - Sake is the traditional wine here. However, very crisp dry whites work well too.
Teriyaki Sauces - Fruity New World reds such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon work here. Soft, light southern French red also should also be considered.
Tempura - Champagne and sparkling wines work here or traditional dry whites such as Chablis.
