Dating back to the 12th century, Loupiac produces fabulous sweet white wines, though today its wines are overshadowed by its famous neighbour Sauternes. Located south-west of the Entre-Deux-Mers and north of Sauternes, the best vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils overlooking the River Garonne, where they benefit from noble rot.
