Château Pichon-Longueville Baron, Paulliac, 2007 75cl
- Left Bank
Blackcurrant aromas are supported by subtle soft spice. The palate brings some blackberry notes with a hint of cedar and tobacco. Whilst not as intense as the 2005, this still retains the elegance of good Paulliac and makes a fantastic alternative if something a touch lighter is required.

The blend is made up of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is the rich cassis fruit and firm tannin this grape lends to this wine that gives it its powerful character. Pichon-Baron's reputation as one of the top producers in the region becomes more entrenched with every vintage.
This is a second growth claret that forms part of the illustrious 'super-seconds' and sits adjacent to Château Latour on Bordeaux's left-bank.
