Trout

As usual with food and wine matching, consider the way that the trout has been prepared.

With fresh trout keep the flavours from the wine very simple and opt for light wines - unoaked Chardonnays such as Chablis work well or Pinot Gris.

A good white Burgundy would be an excellent option should the fish be smoked.
