Alfrocheiro

Known to us affectionately as 'Alf', this is a red grape variety which is only really found in Portugal.

It is thought to be a very close relation to the Pinot Noir grape, and produces styles of wines that are medium-bodied and have a raspberry/red fruit character. Its inner vividity and colour can be seen in the picture, which depicts the grapes just after pressing.

If you like big full Burgundian wines, this grape is for you.
