A truly unique wine that is essentially a blend of cognac and highly acidic unfermented grape juice. There is plenty of rumour surrounding the origin of this French aperitif with many claiming that its creation was an accident. Whether it was the fault of the winemaker himself or, as some claim, the error of a novice cellar boy, once the blend had been allowed to mature for a
few years in oak it produced fabulous results. Historically growers in the Cognac region use to drink this in the vineyards. Over the years they have developed it into something that is soft yet has lovely sweetness. You can serve this either as an aperitif, digestive or with dessert. It truly is a versatile wine. Chill it down and off you go. As it's fortified you can leave it open for a few weeks, if you can!
