I’ve included some wine from the Zevenwacht vineyards in your wine club selections before, so when Chris returned from the London wine fair raving about their newest labels, I thought it would be ideal for you. If you look closely at the label you’ll see that the pattern that makes up the ’7’ contains all the different fruit flavours detectable in the wine. This sums up the broad flavour of the wine that makes it so delicious.
The seven itself relates to the direct translation of Zevenwacht which is ‘seven expectations’.
Vineyard owners Denise and Harold Johnson brought in young wine maker Jacques Viljoen to bring a modern twist to their wines. He has certainly achieved that with the 7even range, very fresh and new tasting, they incorporate a classic South African punchiness with an elegance that sums up the philosophy very well indeed.
