My sister Mary deserves the credit for finding this little gem when she and MD Alan visited Tuscany earlier in the year. It is produced by a family owned wine-making firm led by Marco Barbanera. Heavy investment in modern machinery has been his focus over the past ten years, and it’s paid off. Classically Italian, it is soft and full of cherry fruit flavour. Chris also assures me, it’s a great match to pasta dishes. .
