The theme is ‘A Taste of the ‘Old World’’ and we’ve chosen some great European wines to illustrate these classic styles. The term ‘Old World’ is in itself one that fires up controversy (as is discussed on pages 7 and 8), so hopefully there are lots of interesting talking points as well as some delicious wines to try. Just because we call them ‘traditional’ does not mean that they are not exciting and I think you will find some of the inclusions new to you, even if they are from the ’Old World’.
A word of warning to anyone that is planning on attending one of our tastings this year, they are selling out fast. February’s sold out before Christmas and the others are not far behind so make sure you don’t leave it to the last minute before buying tickets. The free Saturday shop tastings will continue as well so there will always be some wine to try if you’re in town on a Saturday. Just come down to the shop and Chris or Don will be only too happy to oblige. The chance to try some interesting liqueurs will also continue, so once again, please just pop in and ask.
