The Morgenhoff Estate (pictured left) is also from the Simonsberg area of Stellenbosch and represents a totally different type of Chenin Blanc to the easy-drinking styles we're used to in this country. A very well oaked wine it has a very creamy texture that balances perfectly with the citrus fruit flavour. The saturation of the market with cheaply oaked wines as put many people off, but this is an example of why good oak integration brings added complexity and depth to wine.
