Warwick: A Family Concern

Working within the family business myself, my interest is always sparked when I hear of wine produced in this way. Warwick is very much in this vein, and I’m always really impressed by the wines they produce too.

 

The Warwick winery, situated beneath the shadow of the Simonsberg mountain, has been in the Ratcliffe family since 1964.

Soon realising the potential of the plot they had acquired, newly married Norma and Stan set about producing wine. The praise they received, and the flair Norma clearly had for wine-making, prompted her to study the subject in more depth and they’ve been reaping the rewards ever since.

 

Norma Ratcliffe first came to wine industry when she and her husband acquired the Warwick estate in 1964, now Grandson Michael is MD of the firm.
