The Piedmont region where both of this month’s Barberas are made has a reputation for producing some of Italy’s finest wines.
Second only to Sangiovese in terms of how widely grown it is, Barbera has a presence in many of Italy’s wine producing regions. It makes its way into a number blends in central Italy and in Piedmont it is known as ‘the people’s wine’ because of its versatile nature.
