February / March

Hello, and welcome to the first Weavers Wine Club of the year. You’ll be pleased to hear that things are starting to get back to normal after the Christmas rush as we settle into 2013.

With a New Year must come new things and we’ve got some brand new wines which I’ve included in this month’s case. There has been some great new additions to out Chilean range and we're really proud of the way it’s shaping up.

The wines I’ve included in this month’s case aside, we’ve also sourced some premium wines from some of the top producers. Please come down to the shop and check them out, they make a great alternative to traditional French wines and definitely compete on price.

Our wine-producing friends in Europe are coming off the back of a very difficult vintage and we’re still waiting to hear what the full repercussions will be. Because we deal with smaller producers who rarely compromise on quality, I suspect the vintage to produce some really interesting wines but equally low yielding crops. This, coupled with the added expense of battling the difficult conditions, may well push the price up. Rest assured that we will be working hard to ensure that, firstly, the quality of the wine does not slip, and secondly, that our customers will not be hit hard with steep price increases. Very much a case of ‘watch this space’ for now though I’m afraid.

That aside, I hope you enjoy the case, and wish you all the best for the coming year.
