The Essence of White Burgundy

The “Les Cadoles” are brand new on the English market and there has been a lot of fuss about them already. I made sure that I received a sample and was not disappointed by the contents. It has all the elegance and complexity required of good white Burgundy but remains incredibly approachable. I think this style of wine is the future for premium French wines as far as the UK market is concerned, I hope you like it as much as everybody else does.

Burgundy in a Nut Shell

Famed for both red and white wines of great quality and complexity, it is mostly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that are grown here. That said, there are areas that grow the white grapes Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté and Pinot Blanc in small quantities. Beaujolais is situated right in the South of Burgundy, where they grow the red grape Gamay. There are more Appellations in Burgundy than any other region in France, a fact that reflects the sheer quality of the wines produced here.
