The region itself has plantings of noble grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvigon, as well indigenous varietals that are not found many places at all. Naturally, this sparked my interest immediately, so when I came across the wines at the trade fair I was very keen to try them. Mary, Chris and Mike all agreed with me that the quality was there as a well as the point of difference, so I invited Emilian Dan, the importer of these wines, to attend our Wine Club Members tasting to see if we could get a consensus for their inclusion in the case. I think that everybody I spoke to had good things to say so by the time the Emmilan was packing up, I was ordering the wines in for the August./September Wine Club cases.
