I feel ashamed to admit it but I had almost forgotten about this wine! A recent tasting with a trade customer reminded me of just how good it is so I thought I'd share that with you guys as well. The Central Valley in Chile is famed for its approachable and affordable wines, but I think that the Vicuna is one of those wines that really delivers a bit of extra depth too.
Named after the camelid indigenous to South America, this wine has that fantastic fruit expression we've come to expect from the continent, but I also think there is a touch of light Bordeaux hinted at too. A really good wine for the patio this summer.
