In the case of the red it is the Nero D'Avola grape, whereas the white is made from Grillo, and both are sourced from Organic vineyards in Trapani, on the southern Italian island of Sicily. The reason I have selected these is threefold. Firstly, I think that there is a real lack of good Sicilian wine on the UK Market, so I was really pleased to find something of this quality. Secondly, I find organic wines so hit and miss, so it was great to find a wine where this actually meant something, and translated into good wine. Finally, I think they are both a cracking choice for summer drinking and suited to Barbequed food - an absolute must when I'm selecting wines for the June case.
