We have worked with Tamar Ridge for sometime and indeed these wines have stared in past cases. The Devil’s Corner Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards located in Tasmania’s Tamar Valley and on the East Coast of the island. Using these two locations allows winemake focus on the strengths of each location and produce a more consistent, complex and richly flavoured wine. Hopefully you will see this is in the quaility of the wine.

Meet the Winemaker, Tom Ravech

Tom grew up in a household where wine was always on the tabel. After completing a degree in business management and struggling to be excited by the employment prospects following graduation, he allowed an interest to turn into a job, and found himself a vintage position with a small winery, he has never looked back.

He believes strongly that most winemaking is done in the vineyard, and finds Chardonnay fascinating fro the endless possibilities it presents to winemakers.

Tasmania offers great terroir, but along with that comes the challenge of working with the weather and what the seasons deliver. He is still learning the characteristics of the younger Tamar Ridge blocks, and is looking forward to seeing how they develop and how to best match them to the wines they are trying to produce.

When away from the vineyards Tom's favourite place to relax with his family are the quiet East Coast beaches of Tasmanian.
