This really is an old favourite of mine and it's one of those wines that just does exactly what it says on the tin, and is a consistently high performer in this regard. It was actually the French that began wine production in Northern Spain, as they sought to find new terroir as the great rot (phylloxera to those in the know) ravaged their vineyards and crops. There are few in Rioja that can claim such heritage, and even fewer that can say they continue to honour this tradition whilst always keeping on the right side of modernity. A superb producer and a superb wine, enjoy!
