A Hidden Gem From Burgundy

A Hidden Gem From Burgundy

I make no apology for including this in your Wine Club cases again, I had a bottle at Christmas and was reminded of why it is so superb. This has all the characteristics of top quality white Burgundy but at a fraction of the cost, it's just one of those appellations that goes about its business of making good wine - going unnoticed by so many. Their loss is our gain, I hope those of you that remember its last inclusion agree with me that it's just too good to not be enjoyed on a regular basis.

The winemaker is a chap called Alain Roy, and he chooses different parcels of his Premier Cru wines from the Montagny appellation and blends them together to achieve the white flower aromas and lively rounded finish of the Château de la Saule. This wine rivals the more famous appellations of the Burgundy region and is simply a stunning drink - one of my all time favourite white wines!
