Anyone who has spoken to me about wine will know about how passionate i am about the wines of Portugal so i make no apology for including another really interesting Portuguese wine, this time from the Alenntejano. Portuguese white wine production is dominated by Vinho Verde and the lesser known indigenous grape varieties so i was surprised to find viognier being made by this small but innovative producer, Englishman Peter Bright. The other thing which took me aback was the exceptional quality of the wine which is rarely grown this extremely hot, challenging area of Portugal.

A delicate and floral expression of Viognier. Subtle aromas of apricot are present on the nose and continue on to the medium bodied, refreshing palate. The finish is long and offers ripe fruits and floral notes.
