I first featured this wine in the Wine Club in 2013. I make no apologies for the replicating this, or for the inclusion of another South African wine in this month's selection. It was literately love a first sip when Chris, Mary and I when we tasted these wines. Sourced from the Badenhordst Family Wines, they are made on the Kalmoesfontein farm in Swartland.
Today, the farm is owned by cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst who together have restored the neglected cellar on the farm that was last used to make wines in the 1930s. The red is a careful blend of Shiraz, Mourvedre, Cinsault and Viognier. I will not say anything more about these wines, I will let them speak for themselves!
