Points of Difference

The guys at Taringi achieve this by only sourcing their grapes from two of the best areas under vine the Awatere and Waiaru Valleys. They also insist on allowing the grapes to achieve a higher than average level of sugar ripeness which contributes to the wines fuller, rounder mouth feel and more persistent finish.

Facts about Marlborough!

The First grapes were actually planted in 1873 by Scotsman David Herd in the southern valleys

It wasn't until 100 years later in 1973 that the first commercial plantings took place at Montana’s Brancott Estate at Fairhall

The most famous and pioneering winery in the regions history, Cloudy Bay, was set up as recently as 1985.

Between 2007 and 2013 Marlborough more than doubled its production from around 120,000 tonnes of grapes grown to over 250,000

Despite Marlborough and New Zealands current popularity it still only produces a tiny amount of the worlds wine, less than 1%!
