Wines to Dance About

Dancing Flame wines take their inspiration from the lava and flames that can be seen erupting from the many volcanoes that are dotted along the length of the Chilean Andes. There are 500 or so active volcanoes in Chile and their imposing presence is central to the rich soils of Chile's valleys and stunning vistas where these wines are made.

The Leyda Valley

The Leyda Valley is situated 14km inland from the Pacific Ocean to the West of Santiago, Chile. This proximity to the ocean brings with it cooling winds which traverse the vineyards from around 10am each morning, making the vineyards an ideal temperature for the slow, steady ripening of grapes.

Pinot Noir

The slow ripening period of the Pinot Noir grapes coupled with the long hours of summer sunshine ensures the full development of flavour and aroma enzymes within the grape. They develop intense berry fruit characteristics whilst retaining all their natural freshness. The resulting wine was aged in French oak barriques to increase its complexity and texture.

Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown in vineyards close to the Pacific Ocean, where the cool breezes allow the fruit to ripen gradually with greater intensity. Aromas of lime and grapefruit accompany floral notes, with a crisp texture and delicate mineral character. Serve chilled with white meat, spicy food or tomato based dishes.
