One of the great things about Southern France's rolling countryside and great expanse of vineyards is the clear sky and the visibility at night. I have fond memories of camping holidays and gazing at the constellations that are so much easier to see when compared with the city. This is the inspiration behind the La Vedette wines as the grapes are sourced form the Vin d'Pays, acres of vineyards under the watchful eyes of the stars at night.

You have to be careful with wines such as these, the quality can differ hugely from label to label. It can be quite a challenge to split the wheat from the chaff in this respect so I was really pleased when we discovered that the La Vedette wines were going to be resurrected (long time Weavers customers may remember the wines' previous incarnation). They are being sourced from different vineyards but the quality was still there. These are just great everyday wines that deliver freshness of fruit, approachability and versatility, great to have on hand at Christmas!
