A Stunning White From the Shores of Lake Garda

Lugana is situated on the south shores of Lake Garda, just over the Veneto border in Lombardy. Tenunta Roveglia was founded by Swiss immigrant Frederic Zweifel in the late 19th Century and has been in the same family ever since. Today the buildings on the estate, some dating from the 15th Century, house an ever increasing and up-to date cantina surrounded by vineyards.

The grape variety used to make this wine is most widely known as Ugni Blanc in France, where it is a large component of some of the finest Cognacs and Armagnacs, and as Trebbiano in Italy where it accounts for just over a third of all white wine production. Part of the appeal is it's ability to produce a wide range of styles and it's tendency to reflect the terroir of the vineyards in which it is grown. This wine is in equal parts crisp and dry with rich apricot and peach notes penetrating both the nose and palate.
