The Casal Branco Estate is from the Ribatejo region in southern Portugal. Located alongside the banks of the river Tagus, this estate has remained in the same family for over 200 years and some parts of the winery date back to the 18th Century.
What really appeals to be about this estate (and Portugal as a wine producing nation as a whole) is how they look to work with the local and native grape varieties which have been grown for generations, rather than moving to the more commercial grapes like some countries have done.
