The Weavers story of 2018 has undoubtedly been the roaring success of our very own Castle Gate Gin which we are delighted to announce has recieved the "Taste of Nottingham" award. Originally we started off with a London dry style gin named No.1 after our shop at 1 Castle gate. This gin is infused with Acorns that Mary and her daughter Katie foraged with their own fair hands from Sherwood forest and has been wonderfully recieved. Since then we have branched out to include a second pink gin which is infused with strawberries and lavender and is delicious when paired with an elderflower tonic. The response that we have recieved to both of these gins has been phenomenal and we would like to thank you for your support and as a thankyou we have teamed up with our friends at Chocolate Utopia to create a selection of gin infused chocolates which you will find in your case and be able to enjoy over the festive season.
As ever, when it comes to December's case we have chosen the wines in this case with the festive season in mind. There is a stunning dry Riesling which has been produced by a family of winemakers whose viticultural heritage stretches back to the 1100's. We also have a selection of big red wines which will see you through those cold winter nights and partner beautifully with the hearty rustic fare that so many of us lean towards at this time of year. Also deserving of a special mention is the first 'natural wine' to make it into the Wine Club, a delightful fruity number from Uruguay!
That just leaves me to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year, thanks for all your support in 2018. Merry Christmas!
Philip
