The Steytler family makes brilliant reds at their Kaapzicht estate. This Shiraz has a deep and rich purple core which blends out into a ruby red rim. The aromas are sweet and floral which develop into rich brambles and liquorice. The palate is generous but focused, and as such offers a harmonious experience. There is oak that is well integrated, spice that is balanced and a mineral note that complements the juiciness of this wine. The size of this red would happily stand up to a meaty stew; something we all need this winter.
