The dog you can see on the front of the bottle is Pingo, the wine-maker's dog, and the story goes that one day he was digging in an unused area of the vineyard ad made a very exciting discovery. The area in question had been ignored by J. P. Ramos because an initial inspection of the soil had shown it to be inferior.
However, Pingo - obviously not satisfied with the exploration - dug deeper, revealing that the innocuous top soil was hiding some rich, nutrient filled earth that is perfect for grape cultivation. The resulting wine is rich and full of flavour, worthy of bearing this smart dog's image - I'm sure you'll agree.
