Hello and welcome to the Wine Club Case for June 2019. This will be the first Wine Club Case of the summer and we have therefore decided to choose wines with BBQs, warm days, and long summer evenings in mind.
We have decided to go for two pairs of wines that we have recently discovered and were extremely impressed with at a couple of tastings over the last few months.
The first of these is the Baccolo wines from the Veneto region of Italy. These wines are located firmly in Amarone country and this is represented in the red wine by the inclusion of the Corvina grape variety, as well as the partial drying of the grapes.
The second pair of wines are an eccentric offering from the Smoking Loon winery in California. Their playful approach to one of the
regions specialties, old vine Zinfandel, and their interesting take on a Southern French style Viognier, intrigued us enough to share them with you in this month's case.
To complete the case we have opted for a pair of sensational South American wines which have become popular additions to our core range over the last year and really show what new world winemakers can do when cultivating classic European grapes on their own unique terrior.
It is also my great pleasure to announce the arrival of the new Weavers website. This is something that we have been working on behind
the scenes for months so we are excited to share it with you.
As ever, I sincerely hope that you enjoy this month's case and that these wines act as the perfect accompaniment to an excellent summer.
