Smelly, Pungent Cheeses

This section takes in to account cheeses like Stinking Bishop or Munster. As with blue cheese, this can be a difficult match and it is best to avoid the more expensive wines as the cheese will not do them justice.

Sweetness is the key with these cheeses, really look to go with sweet or strongly aromatic whites. Gewurztraminer or a Germanic Riesling are a good option but do not rule out some fortified wine options such as Maderia.
