Marsannay-La-Côte

Marsannay-La-Côte is unusual for Burgundy in that the village produces red, white and rosé wines. On the whole they are considered less exceptional than those of other Côte de Nuits villages but certain producers, such as Bruno Clair, are happily confounding the critics.

Rosé used to dominate the village, and is amongst the best in France, but Marsannay-La-Côte has recently moved more into line with the rest of the Côte de Nuits and now turns most of its Pinot Noir into red. These wines may not match their near neighbours for outright quality, but they are priced accordingly and can often represent very good value for money.
