Just to the west of Sancerre, Menetou-Salon produces wine of a similar style to that of its neighbour. It is a much less famous name, however, and because of this it is often possible to find very good value for money.
Around 60% of the wine is white and all of it is from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. It thrives in the limestone soils and produces wines that have great depth and complexity.
The red and rosé wines come from Pinot Noir. They are light in style and usually considered inferior to the whites.
