Imagine a line running across Scotland just south of Glasgow and north of Edinburgh, the area south of this line are the Lowlands. These whiskies tend to be lighter in style and have a fragrant, floral character with fruity showing through. The light character is partially related to the triple distillation of these whiskies, compared to double distillation in the rest of Scotland.
