Whisky from this famous area is characteristically fruity and peaty, with an element of smoke. The peat is more gentle than Western Isle peat here, making the whisky more approachable. Speyside is perhaps the most well known Scottish whisky producing area with around 50 distilleries scattered across the countryside, all varying in size.
