Vanilla and subdued fruit are indicators of the ageing process, the layers of complexity developing into deep flavoured wines. Bottle and/or wood maturation have softened the tannins allowing the subdued fruit to develop in the back of the mouth. Dark berry fruits are prominent while rich plum and date flavours meld together in the older, more mature examples.
