The fortified Port wines from Quinta do Portal have been a staple of the Weavers range for some years now as they consistently show superb depth and quality whilst also representing excellent value. I was therefore very excited to learn about their new range of non fortified wines made from grapes grown in the Port heartland of the Douro Valley.

Quinta do Portal Colhieta Tinto

This is a wine that is made with care. By using precise winemaking techniques, this wine offers plenty of depth. Full bodied in character, with a ripe berry colour and a fruity aroma that comes from the Tinta Roriz. There are also touches of florality to this wine that comes from the Touriga Nacional. Here is a wine with excellent freshness, toasty and appetising in the mouth, with an attractive and elegant finish. It's a wine that we can enjoy now, but it will also age very well.
