June

So hear we are half way through the year and the EU referendum nearly upon on us.  I have been pondering upon the affect the EU referendum would have on the wine trade for sometime now and you can read my thoughts in this months feature article. Don't worry, not all of it is dedicated to referendum stuff as I am sure, like me you are probably fed up with the whole topic. However, we are close to publishig the reslts to our Referendum wines which I have been told are helping some customers to make up their mind

This months we have opted for quite a collection of wine styles from the New and Old World.  This includes featuring a some New World Rhone styled wines, I dare say some of the French producers may kick me me out of Europe for uttering those word in the same sentence, an interesting selection of wines we have found from Wakefield (not Yorkshire I hasten to add) and would like to you have a look at some French wines made with a reference point towards Burgundy.

Our members tasting is in the final stages of planning, we still have plenty of places to fill so we hope to see you here. We have started planning the tables so very soon we will send out a note so you can see what we will be having on tasting.  We also have another big tasting planned for the Autumn, details to follow on that.

As ever I do hope you enjoy this months selection and Chris, Fergus Peter and I all look forwards to see you soon.

Best wishes

Philip
